Dr Emily has had a varied and interesting journey to come to Orange! She grew up on a cattle property in Queensland and graduated with her Bachelor of Veterinary medicine from University of Queensland.
After working in a mixed veterinary practice in Western Queensland she gained experience by working as a locum vet, working on the family farm, volunteering as a vet in the Cook Islands and backpacking around South America, before returning to Australia and working in Emergency Vet medicine at the James Cook University Hospital in Townsville.
Her areas of professional interest include emergency and critical care medicine and soft tissue surgery. She loves working in a rural area and mentoring young vets too.
Outside work, Emily enjoys running, swimming, cooking and horse riding. She also plays the piano and loves spending time with her partner and family, and Andy the Kelpie!
