We are facing a shortage of Vets worldwide. We need to look after our vets and nurses to ensure we can continue to provide an excellent service at Mulberry Lane Vet Hospital. Providing a 24 hour service is exhausting as a Vet might be answering the phone at night, at the same time as attending to a late night emergency. After a tiring and demanding night, the vet and vet nurses often have to work through the following day.
We are introducing a new service called Medechat VetCheck 24/7 to give support to our valued team, as well as provide a good 24 hour service to you and your pets. From December 6th when you call our after-hours emergency mobile number, you will be put through to Medechat who have very experienced nurses triaging the emergency phone calls 24/7.
Options will be given to you, depending on the nature of the emergency. Either the vet on duty will be called OR Telemedicine will be offered, which is when a qualified Medechat Vet provides an online consultation via phone or videolink – you’ll be able to have Veterinary advice in your own home for a small fee.
Medechat sends us details of any “after hours” calls the following morning, which we follow up to ensure your pet is progressing well.
Look out for more details of Medechat VetCheck 24/7 in the coming weeks and on our Facebook page.
